The COBP denounces the police brutality and the arrests that took place on March 15th, which were neither justified nor necessary. The tactic used by the SPVM to end the 10th demonstration against police brutality was once again a mass arrest, done without a warning to disperse. The recent deluge of expressions of “concern

Je suis arrivé à 17h05 au carré Berri pour la 10è manifestation contre la brutalité policière, qui vise à dénoncer les abus policiers et le profilage racial présentement en cours à Montréal. La police de Montréal tue, harcèle et détient arbitrairement des individus, et c'est pour cette raison que, depuis 10 ans, beau temps mauvais temps, je me présente à cette manifestation.

C’est comme à l’habitude dans la maison familiale que le corps du défunt est veillé par la famille et les membres de la communauté. Mais il ne s’agit pas d’un décès ordinaire, d’une mort naturelle ou accidentelle comme il y en a toujours. Il s’agit cette fois de la mort violente d’un jeune homme de 18 ans, tué par balle dans la soirée du 7 mars dernier, à l’aide d’un fusil qu’il a lui-même chargé puis actionné.
