The Russia-Georgia conflict shows the degree reached today by the imperialist tensions : we again see the army of one of the important powers of capitalist world - Russia - get into action directly and in a provocative manner by invading a country which is a new allied of the first world power - the United-States - which has directly armed the Georgian troops, urgently repatriated troops from Iraq and even participated on the ground to the attack against Ossetia (US military advisers are present in the Georgian army).

Dans un dénouement aussi spectaculaire qu'inattendu, le président du Parti communiste du Népal (maoïste), Pushpa Kamal Dahal (mieux connu sous son pseudonyme, «Prachanda»), a finalement été choisi comme premier ministre de la nouvelle République fédérale démocratique du Népal, lors d'un vote tenu vendredi à l'assemblée constituante. La veille, les deux partis qui s'étaient alliés avec le parti du Congrès il y a quelques semaines pour empêcher l'arrivée au pouvoir des maoïstes (savoir, le Parti communiste du Népal [marxiste-léniniste unifié] et le Forum des droits du peuple madhesi) avaient annoncé, contre toute attente, leur ralliement à la candidature de Prachanda.

   Ces événements semblent pousser les États-Unis vers un conflit alors que même le Pentagone estime qu'une attaque serait trop imprévisible et coûteuse. Le président, pour sa part, offre actuellement des signes de retenue. Avec les rumeurs qui circulent et les menaces lancées par des membres du Congrès, les citoyens sont en droit de se demander ce qui se passe réellement. Des néo-conservateurs ont déclaré leurs intentions, mais voici d'abord l'actualité de ce conflit selon des faits vérifiables. [v 1.21]

In this historical period the contortions of capital can only mean more and more attacks on the living conditions of the proletariat; they can only create poverty and hunger for hundreds of millions of human beings, that is when they are not pummelling them with their armed tanks.
