Les Guerres Scélérates

Louise-Ann Maher, Sunday, June 6, 2004 - 19:53

Haiti and the insanity of ‘official’ denial

As many as nine peaceful demonstrators were killed in Haiti on May 18, as tens of thousands of people took to the streets despite the risk - and reality - of violent repression by international forces and a militarized Haitian police force. These demonstrators were calling for an end to the illegal occupation by U.S., Canadian and French forces and for the return of overthrown President Jean-Bertrand Aristide.

The mainstream media has already done its best to cover this up, which isn’t difficult considering that most corporations no longer have journalists covering Haiti, save for Associated Press (AP), Reuters and the Miami Herald. The readership of these sources has scarcely been privy to any of the realities in Haiti for quite some time.

Michael Lessard..., Monday, May 31, 2004 - 14:53

As we already know, once more, the "opposition" in Venezuela has demonstrated its fraudulent face. The signature repair process, that was planned to launch a recall referendum against Chávez, by all counts, is another failure.

However, this is not the main issue, it is just the window-dressing, a single appearance form, of a national and international conspiracy against the Chávez Government, that has a five-year golpista tradition already.

End the occupation !

To put an end to the occupation, Montreal is gathering next Saturday June 5th, on Mont-royal from 3:30 until 5:00. Then it's us against the system again, America's new war against the Middle East has not switched the conflict upside down in Palestine. Colonialism and imperialism causing death of citizens and destruction financed by the American war industry. And this specific state dictatorship encouraging apartheid and isolation of Palestinians in Gaza and Jericho. We stand here to put an end to this, the invasions, the massacres, and the war.

Go to Hell, Bush!!!

European leaders are now under fire by the Bush to bail his ass out of Iraq. The Bush administration is seeking support for a UN resolution for a US led multination security force to uphold order in Iraq. Over sixty years ago the leaders of France and England confronted another madman in Munich. Instead of standing firm they agreed to sell out Czechoslovakia after Hitler assured them that he had no aims for further expansion. However, before the war was over Hitler had conquered all of Europe. Tyrants are never satisfied.
