The future of Nepal’s king – “Either exile or trial before a people's court”

Anonyme, Friday, February 24, 2006 - 16:02

20 February 2006. A World to Win News Service. The 13 February, the tenth anniversary of the people’s war in Nepal, was marked by military actions, a mass support rally in New Delhi, India, and a series of interviews given by Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) Chairman Prachanda to the Nepali, Indian and world media. Chairman Prachanda’s comment on the king’s future – or lack of one – caused a huge stir because friends and foe alike knew that it was not only a statement of intent backed by millions of people in revolt and a rapidly advancing revolutionary army, but part of a specific plan and timetable.

Hitchens: Irving has never and not once described the Holocaust as a "hoax."

Hitchens: Irving's studies of the Churchill-Roosevelt relationship, of the bombing of Dresden, of the campaigns of Rommel and others, are such that you can't say you know the subject at all unless you have read them.

The anti-Islam cartoons and the imperialist powers’ strategic considerations

Anonyme, Thursday, February 16, 2006 - 12:43

13 February 2006. A World to Win News Service. The worldwide upsurge of anger sparked by the anti-Islamic cartoons was the main item on the agenda for the meeting of Nato defence ministers at the weekend. This reveals how much all the imperialist powers feel that their strategic interests are at stake. It is impossible to understand the fury surrounding these caricatures first published in Denmark without looking at the material interests and political and economic factors involved. It is also important to examine the relationship between those interests and the propagation of certain ideas, and the complex interaction between those two spheres.

Message to the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) from the RIM Committee

Anonyme, Thursday, February 16, 2006 - 12:40

On 13 February 1996, a whole new chapter in the history of Nepal was begun, when the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) led the masses of the downtrodden in Nepal in daring simultaneous assaults throughout the country. Although the scale of the initial actions was small and the People’s War was begun with only a few weapons, from the outset the goal was mighty—to carry out a new democratic and socialist revolution throughout the country as part of the international proletariat’s historic mission of sweeping imperialism, reaction and indeed all traces of class exploitation from the Earth.

Nepal election boycott successful, new Maoist military victories

Anonyme, Thursday, February 16, 2006 - 12:38

13 February 2006. A World to Win News Service. The boycott and general strike against the Nepal monarchy’s attempt to hold municipal elections 8 February was a big success – so much so that the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) called off the remaining four days of the eight-day bandh to avoid unnecessary hardship to the population. During this period, the People’s Liberation Army inflicted serious losses on the royal army in battles in widely separated regions.
