Despite heavy intimidation by both police and the mainstream media thousands of people turned out to protest against the WEF in New York. Mainstream media also grossly underestimated how many people actually turned out for the demonstration. CNN reported that there were "almost 1000" protestors, while Reuters guessed that there were between "three and five thousand." The march stretched for several blocks and involved somewhere between 10 and 20 thousand people. Note there were also 4,000 cops. |
