Censure médiatique, détournement de fond d'un ex-chef de cabinet devenu cocaïnomane, ce qu'il convient d'appeler l'affaire Boisclair pourrait cacher beaucoup que d'anodines « frasques de jeunesse ».

According to an article of Ewen MacAskill, in the Guardian, October 7, 2005, a senior Palestinian politician, Nabil Shaath ... who was the Palestinian foreign minister at the time .... said that in an interview George Bush had claimed that he was on a mission from God when he launched the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq; furthermore, he assured the Palestinian delegation that God also talked to him about Middle East peace.

Un mur du silence de nos medias cache le visage humain d'une société solidaire et indépendante. Il y a un acharnement à ne faire voir que le côté qui répond bien aux attentes de Wahsington.

According to Celtic mythology, the superstition about the four-leaf clover originated with the Druids, who probably were priests from Atlantis washed ashore somewhere in Wales. Anyhow, just as garlic supposedly would stop a blood-sucker, so the druids believed that the four-leaf clover would ward off all types of evil spirits, and that it could enable us even to see and to communicate freely with the good fairies. Of course, as extension of the holy trinity, our modern religious superstition portrays the four leaves of the clover as faith, hope, love and luck, respectively. Little could the ancient druids imagine into what world capitalist production, especially American militarism, later would transform their youthful, natural belief.

New Socialism: To Be Or Not To Be Without Private Property?

franz, Thursday, October 6, 2005 - 14:33

Surely, as Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez Frías explained, the Bolivarian project is "not Marxist", it is "Bolivarian".

Furthermore:

" 'The Venezuelan Constitution guarantees the right of private property, and this government has converted many Venezuelans into proprietors', he said, ... subsidized programs to acquire popular vehicles, now even "enable the middle class to become proprietors of a car or two.' "

http://www.aporrea.org/dameverbo.php?docid=66786

Obviously, in this case President Chávez is talking about a simple, poor, "Third World", middle class, that barely can buy a car, about the simple private property of goods, of consumer goods, of pencils, toothbrushes, wireless telephones, shoes, dresses, etc., things that can be bought or sold on the everyday market.

In a strict Marxist sense, he is not talking about capitalist private property of the means of production, about military-industrial complexes, about things like land, lakes, fishing grounds, mines, oil industries, huge sugar or rice plantations, etc., owned by capitalists like Pedro Estanga, the Cisneros, Capriles or Mendozas. The latter Marx has called "private property of the means of production", which by definition no simple wage-laborer ever could possess.
