Today a huge debate took place at the University of Western discussing a possible bursary from Can West Global. Can West is offering our journalism program $1 million in aid for "minimal catches"; from what I gathered at the debate that the 'minimal' involvement only includes: certain guest speakers; and minimal course content. I personally don't think it is that simple, I understand that $1 million might not be a lot of money to Canada's biggest media conglomerate, but I'm sure the "minimal catches" as discussed at the debate by our FIMS (Faculty of Information Media Studies) representative will be part of some sort of Can West agenda.
