Cuba, les États-Unis et les Droits de l'Homme

Une fois de plus les intellectuels sont entrés dans le débat - cette fois-ci sur les questions de l'impérialisme des États-Unis et des droits de l'homme à Cuba. "Quel est l'importance du rôle des intellectuels ?", me suis-je demandé en marchant devant le Puerto del Sol à Madrid un dimanche après-midi ensoleillé (le 26 avril 2003). Puis j'ai entendu des slogans anti-castristes scandés par quelques centaines de manifestants résonner à travers la place presque vide. Malgré une dizaine d'articles et de commentaires par des intellectuels de renom dans les plus grands journaux de Madrid, et des heures de propagande à la télévision et à la radio, plus le soutien accordé par les bureaucrates des plus grands syndicats et partis politiques, à peine 700 à 800 personnes, la plupart des exilés Cubains, se sont présentées pour attaquer Cuba. "A l'évidence, me suis-je dit, les intellectuels anti-Cubains n'ont que peu ou pas d'influence mobilisatrice, du moins en Espagne."
