Live from the No One Is Illegal / SAB March, walking down Rideau street less than 2 km away from Parliament Hill, PatC speaks with refugee and march participant Amir Hodod. The marchers, having made their way on foot from Montreal this past week, are now minutes away from their goal.

Malgré un orage soudain qui arrose le défilé, la marche SSF / Personne N'est Illégal, renforcée de plusieurs centaines de supporteurs, fait présentement (14h45 samedi) son chemin à travers Ottawa. La foule se dirige vers la colline parlementaire.

Midi samedi, la marche Solidarité Sans Frontières / Personne N'est Illégal a atteint les `banlieues riches' d'Ottawa.
Après avoir marché d'Orleans depuis ce matin sous un soleil éclatant, les quelque 150 participants attendent l'arrivée des navettes qui ajouteront des centaines d'autres manifestants à l'effort final : la marche vers la colline parlementaire au centre-ville de la capitale fédérale. Les marcheurs attendent aussi d'avoir une réponse à leurs demandes de la part du ministre de l'Immigration, Joe Volpe.
Tout le monde est invité à se joindre à la manifestation finale sur la colline, vers 16h aujourd'hui.
Une fête dans un parc à proximité du Parlement marquera la fin de l'action.

PatC clôt la 7e journée de la marche SSF / Personne N'est Illégal avec ce rapport enregistré en marchant de Cumberland à Orleans en Ontario, autour de 21h05 vendredi.
Même si les navettes quittent Montréal en ce moment (samedi 9h), les gens qui aimeraient supporter les marcheurs sur place sont toujours invités à faire le trajet et se joindre au groupe tandis qu'il s'approche de son but, la colline parlementaire à Ottawa. Une manifestation y aura lieu vers 16h00 samedi, et le groupe espère toujours que le ministre de l'immigration M. Joe Volpe reconnaîtra la présence et l'effort des marcheurs, au minimum.

PatC closes the 7th day of the SAB / No One Is Illegal march with this last report filed walking from Cumberland to Orleans, Ontario, at about 9 PM on Friday.
The marchers will be completing their historic journey today, Saturday June 25th, walking from Orleans to Parliament Hill in Ottawa. While the shuttle service is leaving Montreal right now, people wishing to support them are still invited to make the trip to join them on the spot -- a final demonstration will take place at around 4 PM this afternoon as the march reaches its goal.

La marche Personne N'est Illégal / SSF est rendue (18h30 vendredi) à Cumberland en Ontario. Les participants se préparent pour la dernière journée d'effort, qui les conduira jusqu'à la colline parlementaire, demain après-midi.

Pour les Montréalais qui voudraient supporter les marcheurs sur place à Ottawa samedi, une navette matinale est disponible : elle part à 9h00 pile de l'université Concordia.

As the main group marches from Thurso to Masson, a special delegation has been sent ahead to Ottawa to try to speak with Joe Volpe, minister of Immigration, before the march and its supporters converge on Canada's capital tomorrow.
Presently (about 12:50 on Friday) the marchers' delegation is at the CIC building on Laurier street, and it appears a few of them will be allowed to meet with Immigration officials after 'arguing with police and security for 40 minutes'.

Une délégation spéciale a été envoyée à Ottawa en avance de la marche Personne N'est Illégal / SSF. En direct de l'édifice du Bureau de l'Immigration, 365 rue Laurier Ouest à Ottawa, PatC nous rapporte qu'on vient d'aviser les marcheurs que le ministre de l'Immigration Joe Volpe ne leur parlera pas.

MISE À JOUR 12h51 : deux délégués rencontreront des employés d'Immigration Canada dans les prochaines minutes -- des mises à jour suivront.

As of the last posted update, 8:30 AM on Friday, the SAB / No One Is Illegal march has entered its seventh day as the participants make their way from Thurso to Masson. They plan to cross the Outaouais again tonight, to rest one last time in Orleans, before a final push on Ottawa, Saturday.

En ce début de 7e jour de la marche SSF / Personne N'est Illégal sur Ottawa, PatC nous remet à jour sur la position et l'état d'esprit des marcheurs. Même si la fatigue est `palpable', les participants sont présentement en chemin vers Orleans (Ontario), où ils passeront une dernière nuit `sur la route' avant d'arriver à Ottawa pour faire connaître leurs revendications.
