We’ll be traveling from Vermont to DC, from West Virginia to Rhode Island. The caravan, in collaboration with local groups, will be presenting workshops and presentations on the FTAA, the Summit of the Americas, as well the broader context of capitalist globalization. Other topic areas include: women and globalization; the colour of resistance; the situation on the ground in Quebec City; anti-authoritarian and participatory organizing; and more. We are particularly interested in strategizing beyond the “summit-hopping” dynamic of Quebec City. The caravan participants will be Helene Vallieres and Ian Renaud-Lauze of the CASA in Quebec City and Jaggi Singh of the CLAC in Montreal. Local US organizers and activists will also be participating in presentations. [Note: One of CLAC’s speakers, originally from Mexico, was refused a visa by the US government.] =-=-=-=-=-= TOUR SCHEDULE – February 12 to March 3 =-=-=-=-=-= [More details about the tour dates later in the month will be forthcoming in the upcoming week.
