Anonyme, Martes, Junio 29, 2010 - 08:02

Given the overwhelming number of people arrested during the G20 repression in Toronto, the CLAC Legal Committee has set up phone numbers to help people get info about friends and family members who may have been arrested over the weekend.

If you are looking for info on people from Montreal who have been detained, if you have lost touch with friends or family members or if you’ve witnessed the arrest of someone from Montreal, you can call one of the following numbers:

– 514 563 1437 or 514 243 2776

We will relay requests for information to people in Toronto who are specifically following up on folks from Montreal who have been arrested.

Please note that this number is NOT for inquiries from journalists or media.

Remember also that we are operating in the context of 900 arrests and widespread suppression of due process, in which many of the detained have been denied access to counsel. We are nevertheless doing our best to help and support those arrested over the weekend.

If you know of Montrealers who have been arrested and released and who are looking for a way back to Montreal, please tell them to contact the CLAC transport cell phone at 1 647 238 7139 (if there is no answer and you are able to send a text message, please do so.)
