OPEN LETTER: to the leaders of the oppositionAnonyme, Martes, Octubre 16, 2007 - 14:04 (Analyses | Imperialism)
JORGE TORREALBA
THE CORPORATE PROPAGANDA PUNDITS ARE DWELLING ON THE ALTERNATIVES OF THE LIBERALS AS IF THIS PARTY, OR ANY OPPOSITON PARTY, WOULD HAVE OPTIONS IN THEIR NON-CONFIDENCE IN THE GOVERNMENT. Our corrupted media owned by multinationals managed in Washington, are trying to persuade Canadians that Harper must be given another chance. They say the Liberals must give themselves about a year to rebuild their party, they affirm as if they knew that Canadians do not want another election, they mention the multiple provincial elections as a justification and they encourage us not to judge the Throne Speech on its merits. The Bloc – they say –would be wrong to stick to its five criteria and the NDP should be smart enough to strike some under-the-table deals with Harper to be on the right side of power in the next twelve months. Harper has done wrong to Canada and Canadians since day one of his minority government. The death of our military in Afghanistan is a consequence of Harper’s obedience to his master, the mentally disturbed G.W. Bush. Parliament has wasted more than a year in a ping pong of nonsense and irrelevance that do not interest Canadians. Now, the propaganda machine from Washington wants to impose on Canada another year of Harper and they portray Dion as a week opponent, trembling facing the bravado of Harper. The truth is that giving Harper one day more in power would degrade Canada a little further. Dion has no other solution but to defeat the Government immediately and go to the most critical election that is necessary for the future of our children. That action alone would strengthen the Liberal Party to form a majority government. The polls are now claiming that Harper is much ahead and he is going to get a majority government, if elections are precipitated now. Funny, two week ago the polls were even. Talking with my neighbors, relatives and friends I have the impression that we would all vote Liberal if Dion kicked Harper out of the Prime Minister’s chair at the first opportunity, which must come on the vote of non-confidence on the Throne Speech. Dion must be bigger that his party and all historical precedents. He must defeat Harper for the good of Canada, of all Canadians and for the survival of our descendents. Jorge Torrealba, Halifax, NS,
