One essential aspect of the mobilization against Bush, Harper, Calderon and the SPP will be actually getting people to Montebello, or near Montebello, from Montreal, by bus or car.

Don't take for granted that we can easily transport hundreds of protesters to Montebello. We need to be collectively organized, we need resources and we need your mutual aid.

"TransportMontebello" will be the collective effort of everyone dedicated to getting people to the protests and back. We need your cooperation and support! It's not the most glamorous task, but transport support is essential to a successful protest. We need money, cars, and drivers, and people who can take the time to be responsible for buses.

The SPP meeting at the Chateau Montebello is scheduled to take place from August 20-21. On MONDAY, AUGUST 20 there will be a protest scheduled for NOON at Montebello. There will also be protests taking place on August 19.

::::: FUNDING :::::

TransportMontebello is the biggest expense for the mobilizations against Bush, Harper, Calderon and the SPP. There are substantial expenses to rent buses, borrow cars and pay gas. We need your help!

- We call on all organizations to consider "sponsoring" a bus to help mobilize protesters to Montebello. One bus rental will cost about $750. If your association, union or group can sponsor a bus, please get in touch at Tran...@gmail.com

- We need donations to pay for our expenses. If you can donate $10, $50, $100 or more, please get in touch or mail us a cheque!

- We also ask that anyone taking a bus or car with TransportMontebello to consider a donation of $5-15 to cover bus rental or car gas expenses.

No one will be turned away due to lack of funds (but for that, we need those who can to donate).

If you can donate, please get in touch at Tran...@gmail.com

Alternatively, you can mail a cheque made out to "La Convergence des luttes anti-capitalistes" and mail it to:

Transport Montebello
c/o QPIRG-Concordia
1500 de Maisonneuve Ouest, #204
Montréal H3G 1N1

NOTE: Please make your cheque out to "La Convergence des luttes anti-capitalistes".

::::: CARS :::::

We need to borrow cars to help shuttle protesters to the protests at or near Montebello and back, from August 19-21.

If you can lend your car, please get in touch at: Tran...@gmail.com

Please indicate if you car is an automatic or standard; when you can lend it; and whether others can drive your car.

::::: DRIVERS :::::

We need many drivers to be on-call to help shuttle protesters to the protests and back.

If you can help drive, please get in touch at: Tran...@gmail.com

Please indicate if you can drive standard or not and which days you are available to drive (between August 19-21).

:::::RESERVE YOUR RIDE TO MONTEBELLO NOW! :::::

The organizers with TransportMontebello need to know early how many people are going to attend the protests against Bush, Harper and Calderon near Montebello. Please reserve your spot now! We ask that reservations for space on buses and cars are made BEFORE August 12, so that we can effectively plan and organize.

Buses will be leaving FROM MONTREAL on the morning of August 20 (and we are organizing transportation for August 19 as well).

Please reserve your spot NOW by e-mail at Tran...@gmail.com

When you reserve, please clearly indicate the following:

-> When do you prefer to leave?: On August 19 (morning/early afternoon) OR with the buses on August 20 (leaving at 9am).

-> When do you prefer to return?: On the evening of August 20 OR on August 21 (when the protests end).

[Simple outdoor anti-capitalist camps are being organized for people to stay on the evenings of August 19 and 20.]

Please note that buses will also depart from Quebec City.

We ask for a donation of between $5-15 to help cover expenses. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Donations can be paid before boarding buses or cars.

::::: HOUSING :::::
