What is racial profiling?
Racial profiling is when the police suspect, harass, arrest and kill people on the sole basis of their skin colour or their religion.

The Mohamed Anas Bennis case
On the morning of December 1st, 2005 officers BERNIER and ROY of Station 25 of the Montreal Police shot two bullets and killed 25 year-old Mohamed at the corner of Kent and Cote-Des-Neiges. On November 4th, 2006, we learned the decision of prosecutor James Rondeau from Rimouski was to not lay any charges against the officers who pled "self defense". The authorities refused to give access to any evidence of the file to the family's lawyer. What do they have to hide, if not another police killing?
The case of Mohamed is one more of the many cases of police brutality and is an extreme consequence of racial profiling. To end police brutality and racial profiling, we need to inform ourselves on our rights and organize ourselves to defend them. The solidarity and struggle can help us to stop police abuse and impunity.
