CitizenShift is a unique media integrated social platform that aims to connect with, and engage citizens for insightful, constructive debate, through creative storytelling online.

CitizenShift takes the form of a web magazine that integrates:
video
audio
photography
blogs
text and other media formats

CitizenShift gives viewers an information-rich, entertaining experience, where issues are explored on a grassroots level, are contextualized, debated, and tell a story that make people think, and hopefully, react. CitizenShift maximizes on new technology to further democratize media that can affect social change.

The site is driven primarily by documentary filmmaking, and the belief that access to media can be an empowering resource for individuals and communities alike. We hope this site can be a tool for social transformation and a common space where filmmakers, creative people, thinkers, and active citizens can be creative, gather information, share knowledge, reflect, express themselves, be entertained, or interact with others to exchange ideas and debate relevant social issues.

This is an alternative media using open publishing. The CMAQ collective, who validates the posts submitted on the Indymedia-Quebec, does not endorse in any way the opinions and statements and does not judge if the information is correct or true. The quality of the information is evaluated by the comments from Internet surfers, like yourself. We nonetheless have an Editorial Policy , which essentially requires that posts be related to questions of emancipation and does not come from a commercial media.
