A free presentation and discussion on the politics and practice of the Northeastern Federation of Anarchist-Communists (NEFAC).

Why NEFAC?

The Montreal local union of the Northeastern Federation of
Anarchist-Communists (NEFAC) has been active in many struggles, and has worked to develop anarchist politics and practices in the last few years. However, our activity remains relatively unknown amongst English-speaking activists in Montreal and even more so to the English-speaking population. This free presentation is an opportunity to be informed about what NEFAC-Mtl does, and how we envision achieving social revolution through autonomous social movements and anarchist organizations.

NEFAC is a bilingual (French and English) organization of revolutionaries from the northeastern region of North America who identify with the communist tradition within anarchism. We oppose all forms of oppression and exploitation, and struggle for a classless, stateless,
non-hierarchical society.

Ce n'est pas le premier communiqué de la NEFAC qui répète le caractère bilingue de l'organisation... seulement en anglais. Être une organisation bilingue suppose que ses membres font un effort pour traduire les communiqués, ce qui n'est visiblement pas le cas.

Je le sais pas quel autre communiqué que tu as en tête, mais tous les communiqués de la NEFAC-Mtl sont soient unilingues français ou bilingues (français-anglais). La raison pourquoi celui-ci est seulement en anglais c'est que la conférence a été préparée pour les anglo-montréalais-e-s. Si t'avais lu le communiqué, ça dit :

C'est une des rares fois que nous organisons une activité publique pour anglophones seulement. 95% de nos activités et communiqués sont en français. Tu peux aller voir notre site web pour le croire (solidarité avec les grèvistes de la SAQ, rapport 2004, pour ne nommer que deux exemples).

Si tu savais les efforts que nous faisons pour "franciser" la NEFAC (une organisation majoritairement américaine et anglophone...quoi que la section québécoise est celle qui connait le plus d'expansion présentement), je ne pense pas que t'avancerais la même critique : "Être une organisation bilingue suppose que ses membres font un effort pour traduire les communiqués, ce qui n'est visiblement pas le cas."

En-t-k, je ne vais pas m'épuiser à te prouver qu'on est une organisation bilingue. Tu te trompes, point.
