Call for Citizens’ Presentations
Immigration, Refugees and Canada-U.S. Integration
Thursday, January 13, 2005
Montreal, Quebec

Are you concerned about the impact of anti-terrorism legislation on immigrants and refugees?

Are you worried about the harmonization of Canadian immigration policies with those of the United States?

Do you work with refugees who have been detained or deported because of alleged security risks?

Are you outraged at racial profiling of immigrants and refugees?

The Council of Canadians wants to hear from you! We will be in Montreal on Thursday, January 13 as a part of our 10-city tour Crossing the Line: A Citizens’ Inquiry on Canada-U.S. Relations.

We are seeking to raise awareness of the corporate lobby's push for more economic and social integration in areas such as: culture, immigration, defence, environmental standards, trade and health care. CEOs are pushing the federal government to make some astounding policy decisions in a piecemeal, behind-closed-doors fashion. We are crossing the country to spread the word, discuss key issues, and explore ways that people can foster resistance in their communities.

If you are interested in making a presentation, please contact Ariel Troster at atro...@canadians.org or 1-800-387-7177, ex. 296. MORE DETAILS TO FOLLOW. Check out www.canadians.org for more information.
