Screw The Bush Protest 'Communicators'

Someone is organizing marshalls who are going to work with the police.

I think that we should protest this group,
'the Bushs' among us'

Request for help with the Communicators group
The demonstations on november 30th in Ottawa are intended to be a safe environment for anyone to express their disagreements with Bush's policies. In order to make that happen, considering the large number of people expected to participate, we will need a large, very visible and audible, and well coordinated gruop of people who's job it will be to let everyone know what the plan is for the marches (the route in perticular)and ask them to please respect that plan.

This group, refered to as the Communicators, will also help the demonstrators with any request they may have in terms of medical help, food or other urgent needs by providing a communcation interface with the appropriate people. They will also alert our police liaison team of any problem in relation to the police force.

To make this group effective we need the following pieces of equipment.

1- lots of fluorescent (because of night time demo) orange jackets
2- a good amount of fluorescent orange tape in case we don't have enough jackets
3- a network of short wave radios to communicate among themselves and with members of other teams (legal, police liaison, medics...)
4- megaphones (to talk to the very big crowd)

And of course, we need lots of dedicated Communicators.

The first meeting of the team will take place on Saturday at 5:00 pm at Agora Café 145 Beserer Street (just East of Rideau Centre). The second will be on the day, November 30th, at 11:00 am, on site in front of City Hall on Laurier (close to the corner of Elgin).
