Did you notice anything different about the media coverage of this year’s election? If you’re a fan of the CBC you probably did. That’s because this year our public broadcaster did something that critics of voter preference polling have been asking them to do for years, they didn’t publish any.
The CBC website describes their rationale as being that voter preference polls have a “tendency to play up the horse race aspect to the detriment of the election issues.
