New mural on St. Catherines street commemorates the missing and murdered women of the down town east side in Vancouver, Canada's poorest neighbourhood.

On Thursday september 18, 2003, a mural commemorating the 63 women who have been listed as missing and or murdered from Vancouver's downtown east side was finished and a traditional Mowhawk ceremony was held to honor the mural. The mural is on the north side of the alternative librarie on St. Catherines street, and it was realised as a collective project by a number of community groups in montreal.
