Abstención: motivos de siempre, motivos de hoy

Anonyme, Tuesday, August 24, 2010 - 09:21

PHILIPPINES: Unions urge Noynoy to prioritize ‘full employment,’ not to renege on his ‘people’s mandate’

Anonyme, Friday, July 9, 2010 - 21:34

Alliance of Progressive Labor (APL)

NOYNOY Aquino’s overwhelming electoral victory is a testimony of a widespread clamor and a clear mandate for change, especially for good governance and pro-poor policies, after the nation endured more than nine years of endless and large-scale corruption, worsening poverty, blatant violations of human and democratic rights, and systematic duplicity under the Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo regime.

[New Zealand elections & poverty] Freedom is not an impossible dream

Anthony Ravlich

Next Monday the Auckland High Court will be hearing my appeal against a sentence in the Wellington District Court on 2 February 2010 where I was convicted and fined $200 for failing to file an election expenses return after standing as a candidate for the Human Rights Party (1) in Auckland Central.

The absurdities in the campaign for president of Brazil

Anonyme, Saturday, June 12, 2010 - 19:25

Bruno Lima Rocha and Rafael Cavalcanti

We see with deep regret the rating of terrorist circulates abundantly by the Brazilian Internet, targeting the 44 million voters-users of the network. The term, associated with economist Dilma Vana Rousseff is, at worst, a historical injustice.

Notes on the May 10 elections in the Philippines

Anonyme, Saturday, May 29, 2010 - 22:38

Sonny Melencio

THE MAY 10, 2010 ELECTION has been bandied about as the cleanest and the most peaceful election since the restoration of this exercise after the fall of the Marcos dictatorship in 1986. This is attributed to the computerized election which ensured the quick counting of votes so that there would be no sufficient time for any of the trapo (traditional politician) to cheat the votes.

PHILIPPINES: Sabotaging the path to the strategic stalemate

Anonyme, Friday, May 21, 2010 - 21:22

Ka Rosa Fahne

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP-Maoist) has spent a tremendous amount of manpower, financial and materials resources in the electoral campaign, in the process forging a tactical alliance with the landlord-bureaucrat capitalist Manuel Villar, the Nacionalista Party--and indirectly with the family of the late fascist puppet dictator Ferdinand Marcos.

Philippine Democracy: Alive, but is it well?

Walden Bello

Reflections on the 2010 Campaign.

The 2010 campaign has drawn to a close, and it’s time to distill my experiences after registering hundreds of miles by land, sea, and air crisscrossing the country as a party-list candidate.
