Israeli Right-wing Minister Effi Eitam says Marwan Barghouti should be "taken into a field and shot in the head"

Dear friends,

As the US force feeds reform to the Palestinians, Israeli ministers are proceeding with "business as usual" as can be seen by the continued re-re-re-re-occuption and in the statement below.

With total disregard to human decency, international law and the Fourth Geneva Convention, Israel proceeds unabated.

The statement comes several weeks after Marwan's detention and yet not ONE charge has formally been made against him!

As this racist Eitam says in the interview, "my message was clear".

Our message should be clear too, THE HAGUE!

From under curfew,
Sam

Eitam: Barghouti should have been on list of targeted killings
By Ha'aretz Service

Right-wing Minister Effi Eitam said Thursday morning that Tanzim chief Marwan Barghouti, who is currently held by Israel, should have been killed by Israel instead of being taken into custody.
In an interview with Israel Radio in response to a report published Thursday by the Israeli daily Ma'ariv which attributed several quotes to Eitam that he made while making a speech in a Tel Aviv synagogue. According to the report, Eitam said that Barghouti should be "taken into a field and shot in the head."

He also reportedly said that if it were up to him, "[Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser] Arafat would be dead in 15 minutes, along with all of his gang."

When the interviewer questioned him on the validity of the quotations, Eitam said, "I am surprised that you take offense on behalf of such murderers. You almost remind me of Jibril Rajoub, he was also offended that the change of command in the gang [Palestinian Authority]."

However, Eitam did not explicitly confirm the statements and said, "I am not responsible for these statements. We are dealing with a gang of murderers that forced upon us a war unlike any others.

Therefore I am not responsible for the quotes heard by someone who sat in a synagogue and didn't understand a thing. I cannot be certain I didn't say those words, but my message was clear"

He did defend his stance regarding Arafat and Barghouti, telling the radio that, "Arafat is a murderer. There is no immunity, whether be it moral or judicial that this man and his gang should be receiving.

After a year and a half, with 600 (Israelis) dead and thousands injured, even (United States) President (George. W.) Bush has said, 'friends, get rid of this man and his gang, otherwise there will be no future for the region.' I have always said this, and I say it now. Barghouti should have been on a list of targeted killings. He shouldn't have been brought here and interrogated.
