GET ON THE BUS! MONTEZ SUR L'AUTOBUS!

While those at the helm of the G8 countries retreat to the
remote mountain resort complex of Kananaskis, Alberta, people throughout Canada
and around the world will rise up to protest the neoliberal agenda championed
by the word's wealthiest economies.

In solidarity with actions that will be occurring
in Alberta, people from Northeastern Canada and the United States are converging
in Ottawa for a teach-in
and two days of protest. Ottawa- a hub
for the elite governmental and business interests represented by the G8- was
slated to the be the original location of the meeting before the last G8
Summit in Genoa (where protester Carlo Giuliani was shot dead by police).

Here in Montreal, there are several groups organizing actions for the June
convergence in Ottawa::

• At 6:30pm on June 11th , there will be a local teach-in titled: "Confronting
  the G8 ...The War at Home and the War Abroad" at the CEDA Communicty
  Centre, 2515 Delisle (one block east of metro Lionel-Groulx). For further

• Buses are being organized from Montreal for "Take the Capital!"
  which will be departing on June 25th at night and June 26th & 27th in
  the morning. Buses will be returning from Ottawa at night on June 27 &
  28. It will cost 10$ per-person for the return trip to Ottawa and back to
  Montreal. You can register for buses on-line at

• Accomodations in Ottawa for out-of-town protesters is being arranged. Visit

• Cyclists who would like to pedal their way to the capital can hook up with
  the Bikesheviks Vélorutionnaires
  while drivers can join their vehicles to the G8
  Highway Blockade on the 401 in an attempt to put the brakes on trade during
  the Summit .

Tandis que ceux à la tête des pays du G8 se
retirent dans les lointains chalets des montagnes de Kananaskis, Alberta, des
gens de partout au Canada et dans le monde vont s'unir pour manifester contre
l'agenda néolibéral poussé de l'avant par les plus gros
marchés économiques mondial.

En signe de solidarité avec les actions
qui vont se dérouler en Alberta, des gens venant des régions
du nord-est du Canada et des États-Unis se réuniront à

de href=http://takethecapital.net/>manifestations. Ottawa- un milieu pour l'élite
gouvernementale et les intérêts économique représentés
par le G8- était le lieu de rencontre préféré pour
cette réunion avant les évènements du href=http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/public/imc-news/2001-July/000355.html>sommet
du G8 à Gênes en juillet dernier (où le manifestant
Carlo Giuliani fut tué par la police).

Plusieurs groupes montréalais organisent des actions pour la réunion
de juin à Ottawa:

• Le 11 juin à 18h30 une conférence intitulée "Confrontons
  le G8 ...La guerre ici et ailleurs" aura lieu au centre communautaire
  de la CEDA, 2515 Delisle (un carré à l'est du métro Lionel-Groulx).

• Des autobus sont planifiés pour l'action "Prenons la capitale!",
  ils quitteront Montréal en direction d'Ottawa le 25 juin au soir et
  aussi le 26 et 27 juin durant la matinée. Les autobus repartiront vers
  Montréal le 27 et 28 juin au soir. Le coût est de 10$ par personne
