Here is a plan of some of the conferences that wil take place in New York City during the anti-WEF events

Global Workers Forum and Rally for Global Justice

Listen to the voices the World Economic Forum will not hear

Workers from New York to the Dominican Republic to China will speak about the challenges faced by working people around the world. AFL-CIO President John Sweeney will discuss the state of the labor movement in today's recession and how to make the global economy work for working people everywhere.

As the world's top corporate CEOs and government officials gather in New York City at the Waldorf Astoria hotel for this year's World Economic Forum, a few blocks away an international coalition of organizations will hold the "Public Eye on Davos" conference for the third year in a row.

Come learn about the socially and environmentally destructive policies and plans promoted by the World Economic Forum. International critics and economists present alternatives while exposing how the WEF's agenda creates global inequality, environmental degradation and instability.

Public Citizen/IFG/Nation Magazine (www.citizen.org): A forum that will include a report back from Porto Alegre, featuring Lori Wallach, Victoria Tauli-Corpuz, Mark Weisbrot and others. They have also invited the World Economic Forum's participants to report back from their own event and to engage in a dialogue with these representatives from civil society. Monday. 2/4 at 7:00PM, Community Church (35th between Park and Madison Avenue).

Students for Global Justice (http://www.studentsforglobaljustice.org/), are
hosting a student conference with workshops both Thursday and Friday, 1/31 - 2/1 (including a GTW presentation), followed by a peaceful, permitted ritual with Starhawk and the Pagan Cluster with Jubilee 2002 on Friday evening. Good energy from students of all ages.

Another World Is Possible (http://www.anotherworldispossible.com/) -- a coalition of organizations including the NYC Direct Action Network will hold a peaceful, "green," permitted rally and march on Saturday 2/2. The rally will begin at noon at the Southeast corner of Central Park, followed by a 1:00 march from the park, arriving at the Waldorf-Astoria. They are also planning trainings during the days leading up to February 2nd and coordinating logistics for out of town visitors.
