September 11th: Immigration & Refugees
Thursday January 24th
5pm -- CKUT 90.3 fm
On-air Studio: 398.4616

CKUT will be hosting a discussion with two members of the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty (OCAP) concerning September 11th and its impact on immigration & refugees in Canada. This program will be an open forum for the public to voice questions & concerns with the new realities affecting immigration & refugee cases in Canada.

OCAP has a long history fighting injustice. Working out of Toronto, OCAP has become known for fighting realities such as homelessness and poverty with the utmost vigilance. This fall an OCAP demonstration shut down the financial district of Toronto in an effort to disrupt the financial workings of the Provincial government of Ontario. OCAP has also been heavily involved with struggles pertaining to immigration & refugees and since September 11th has played a large role in fighting the sometimes cruel and inhuman measures which the Canadian government has taken against minority groups in Canada.

This radio segment is designed to open up discussion about the issues within the Montreal area. We encourage organizations, groups & individuals to pose their questions concerning this topic. We encourage people to ask the questions that the Canadian government only ignores.
