The police have begun spot-checks on out-of-province vehicles within Quebec City.

Seven indie media journalists traveling from Winnipeg, Manitoba were detained by Quebec police and the RCMP for several hours yesterday. Fifteen police members from various jurisdictions searched the mobile home without a warrant. They removed DAT recorder batteries, and broke paneling within the RV. After intimidating the occupants the officers left the van, threatening to return because not all the journalists gave their names.
