Women of the Americas Fear the FTAA Will Expand Gender Inequalities

Includes recordings of speakers on the panel at the Women's Forum, the first event of the People's Summit of the Americas.

The Women's Forum of the People's Summit of the Americas brought women from all over Latin America, the Carribean, the U.S. and Canada into a discusion of the FTAA and its potential consequenses.Many of those attending felt strongly that the expansion of free trade has had a negative impact on their lives. They expressed fear that the development of the FTAA would further increase the hardships that they have to endure in order to support themselves and their families.
