[MONTREAL -- November 1st, 2000]

The Legal Support Team of the G-20 Welcoming Committee has been informed by lawyers that the next bail hearing for Stephane Blais, Daniel Carriere and Kevin Spillane will be TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 7th at 9:30am. Their hearing is to take place in courtroom 411/412 of the Palais de Justice in Montreal (1, rue Notre Dame est, metro Champ-de-Mars).

The G-20 Welcoming Committee is encouraging a large turnout to show our solidarity with Stephane, Daniel and Kevin, and to demonstrate our opposition to their unjust imprisonment. The three have been in custody since last Monday after a street party-protest against the G-20 outside the Sheraton Center in Montreal. The communique attached below provides more details of their case.

The Legal Support Team has collected money to help Stephane, Daniel and Kevin while they are incarcerated in Riviere-des-Prairies and Bordeaux prisons. If you can help with a donation, please contact either stop...@tao.ca or phone 514-278-4533.

PLEASE, try to take the time to attend Stephane, Daniel and Kevin's bail hearing. We need to show them that they are not alone, and that we stand together in solidarity.

The G-20 Welcoming Committee is also organizing a wrap-up assembly to discuss the street protest, and to start discussing legal strategy for the 39 people who were arrested last Monday. The assembly will take place on Tuesday, November 14 at 7pm at L'X (182, Ste-Catherine East, metro Berri-UQAM).
