Le FITAM est à la recherche de pièces de théâtre écrites en français ou en anglais, mais aussi de monologues et d’actes muets portant sur le thème de l'anarchisme ou sur tout sujet se rapportant à l'anarchisme, c'est-à-dire contre toute forme de pouvoir y compris l'État, le capitalisme, la guerre, l'aliénation, le travail salarié, etc.

Le FITAM prendra aussi en considération les textes traitant à partir d’une perspective anarchiste de justice écologique, sociale et économique, de race, de classe et de genre.

Les oeuvres d’auteur-e-s anarchistes et non-anarchistes sont les bienvenues.

Le FITAM offre à son public du théâtre sous toutes ses formes.
Les précédentes éditions ont accueilli:

des États-Unis, The Living Theatre, The Bread & Puppet Theatre, The Flat Earth Theatre
de France, Nicolas Mouret, Monique Surel (coauteur de Au temps de l'anarchie, un théâtre du combat), Maylis Bouffartigue
du Québec, Pol Pelletier, Norman Nawrocki, Joseph Shragge, Bruno Massé et d'autres encore.

Le FITAM est une organisation entièrement bénévole. Toutefois il assumera les coûts des repas et de l'hébergement des artistes non montréalais-e-s.

Les troupes et et personnes intéressées à présenter leurs oeuvres doivent remplir le formulaire de participation disponible en ligne.

Montreal’s 7th annual International Anarchist Theatre Festival

The Montreal International Anarchist Theatre Festival (MIATF), the only theatre festival in the world dedicated to showcasing anarchist theatre, is currently seeking submissions to be staged on May 15-16, 2012.

Application deadline for the Montreal International Anarchist Theatre Festival: January 20, 2012.

The MIATF is looking for English , French plays and monologues or silent pièces on the theme of anarchism or any subject pertaining to anarchism, i.e. against all forms of power including the State, capitalism, war, alienation, critiques of salaried work, etc.

We will also consider pieces exploring ecological, social and economic justice, race, poverty,class and gender from an anarchist perspective.

We welcome work from anarchist and non-anarchist writers.

The MIATF offers local audiences an opportunity to see world class, socially engaged theatre of different forms. Past Festivals have featured:

from the United States, The Living Theatre, The Bread & Puppet Theatre, The Flat Earth Theatre
from Paris, Nicolas Mouret, Monique Surel (co-author of Au temps de l’anarchie, un théâtre du combat) and Maylis Bouffartigue
from Québec, Pol Pelletier, Norman Nawrocki, Joseph Shragge and Bruno Massé among others.

The MIATF is an all-volunteer production. It provides lodging and assumes the cost of meals for out-of-town artists.

Companies and artists who wish to have their work considered must fill out and send in the downloadable application form online.
