Regards sur Bil'in: une soirée de musique, de poésie, de présentations contre l'apartheid israélien

Un évènement culturel dans la série en cours des concerts Artistes Anti-Apartheid, unissant des artistes innovateurs de Montréal en solidarité avec le mouvement international grandissant contre l'apartheid israélien. Cette soirée se concentrera sur la lutte actuelle du village de Bil'in en Cisjordanie, Palestine, qui a récemment déposé une plainte à la Cour Suprême du Québec contre deux entreprises enregistrées au Québec et qui construisent une colonie exclusivement israélienne sur des terres qui appartiennent à la municipalité de Bil'in.

Les performances seront de :

* Vox Sambou: de Montréal, artiste hip-hop émergent, membre éminent du groupe de rap Nomadic Massive, il a récemment publié un premier album solo chez Public Transit Records.

* Kalmunity Vibe Collective: collectif artisitique incroyable, qui joue de la musique qui va du funk à la soul en passant par le rap et le jazz, dédié à la promotion et la perpétuation de l'art comme outil de communication et d'action, en faveur du progrès social...

* Kaie Kellough: poète et auteure montréalaise réputée, célébrée dans tout le Canada pour sa poésie innovante et sociale...

* Matana Roberts: célèbre saxophoniste de jazz née à Chicago, elle joue aussi bien du jazz classique des improvisations qui lui ont valu les éloges de critiques musicaux internationaux. Elle se produira en compagnie de Rebecca Foon.

* Rebecca Foon: musicienne multi talentueuse qui jouera du violoncelle avec Matana Roberts et qui est un membre de Silver Mt. Zion et d'Esmerine

* Sarita Ahooja: activiste sociale de Montréal, impliquée dans de nombreuses luttes de libération en Amérique latine, en territoire Mohawk, en Palestine, elle a travaillé à Bil'in, Palestine, avec le Mouvement de Solidarité
Internationale (ISM).

* Un jour en Palestine, un film de Mary-Ellen Davis, sur une musique de Will Eizlini, des scènes de la vie quotidienne dans les territoires palestiniens occupés, avec une atmosphère de rêve rappelant les films fait-maison des années
60. Mais à la place d'un jour à la plage ou dans son jardin: un mur, un olivier, un bulldozer, des soldats qui harrassent des grand-mères...

* Active Stills: projections d'images du collective activiste de photographes Active Stills, qui a abondamment documenté la lutte actuelle contre le mur d'apartheid israélien.

Un évènement qui soutiendra le travail en cours de Tadamon! Montréal, qui vise à renforcer la solidarité entre les mouvements de justice sociale et économique de Montréal au Proche Orient. A cultural event within the ongoing Artists Against Apartheid concert series uniting ground-breaking artists from Montreal in solidarity with the growing international movement against Israeli apartheid. This evening will focus on the contemporary struggle of Bil'in village in the West Bank,
Palestine, which recently filed a lawsuit in Quebec Superior Court against two sister companies registered in Quebec, currently constructing in an exclusive Israeli settlement on lands within Bil'in's municipality.

En avril (1983) premier grand attentat qui eut lieu contre l'ambassade américaine de Beyrouth faisant 63 morts.

Prises d'otages: telles que celles, en 1985, du journaliste Jean-Paul Kaufmann et du chercheur français Michel Seurat - ce dernier étant décédé en captivité - et un détournement d'avion le 14 juin 1985 (un passager abattu).

L'enlèvement temporaire de 4 diplomates soviétiques en 1985, cette affaire fut réglée promptement par le KGB

En 1987, l'organisation organise des attentats en France dont celui de la rue de Rennes, perpétré devant le magasin Tati, le 17 septembre 1986. C'est le dernier attentat et le plus meurtrier (7 morts et une soixantaine de blessés) d'une série commencée le 4 septembre (11 morts en tout).
