*********************************************************

A day on a squatted vacant lot because we must organise againt police harassment:
* WORKSHOPS (on squatting, our rights, criminalisation of poverty, theft, free access to public transit, racial profiling)
* FOOD with Food Not Bombs
* EXHIBIT and artistic catharsis
* SHOWS (Jeunesse Apatride, Genr’Radical, Bernard et ses des-accords)
* FILM SCREENINGS with Les Lucioles

This summer – like every summer – Montreal’s downtown is invaded by hordes of cops riding horses, walking, biking, driving cars or roller-blading. There are so many of them that even the least anxious of us fear we’ll see them on a flying carpet or bungee jumping from some skyscraper. Like good little soldiers, they carry out the social cleansing required by Montreal’s gentrification, particularly in the summertime, during the peak of lost tourists wearing Bermuda shorts and luxury flip-flops. For the development projects of millionnaires to thrive, the logic of capitalism commands that the poor be stamped out of the area. We refuse the crumbs of that system. Our action is legitimate, no matter its legalities. We must take what we need! We’ve had enough of tickets, of harassment, of arrests and of represssion. The street is ours and we will take it back! We are sick of pigs and festivals!

On August 6th, we occupy and we organise against social cleansing!

Late-comers will find easy directions at the metro to come meet us.
Groups are welcome to hold an information table.
BYOTable!
