 Arrest and jail conditions of women detained under antiterrorist laws in the Spanish state -- the treatment of women is different to that of men, both during arrest and if they are sent to jail, because they have to face very precarious conditions in jail.

Approximately 70% of currently incarcerated women claimed having suffered ill treatment and torture in police custody

When the detainee happens to be a mother, she is constantly threatened with removal of the custody of her children, with constant references to “what a bad mother
