Freedom has been torn apartAnonyme, Monday, March 29, 2004 - 18:14 (Analyses)

The lines of truth and freedom have become blurred, with gray areas and half-truths. So now, we see our once cherished political institutions that formed our Nation had being taken apart, and used as a vehicle of destruction and oppression. We have to wonder, where have the basic rights and freedoms that are suppose to be guaranteed under our Charter of Rights and Freedoms disappear too? If the men and women who fought in WWII did not go to war, we would have lost our freedoms many years ago and not known the difference. As a daughter of a French Canadian Veteran who was in the army in the end of WWII, both my husband and I should have never been attacked, terrorized, and chased out of our own Nation by a select few from the Province of Alberta; all because of fictional words that my husband had written and said. We have gone to the different press in Alberta about my husband’s novels, and what had happen to us, still no sight of justice was seen for us. So, why have not others heard the cries? Or is it that no one cares anymore? Now, not in anyway do my husband and I support or are we against war in anyway. For from the pictures of massive destruction that my husband had told me of his United Nations tour to Iran in 1988, war is not glamorous or it is an honour to go off and fight in. In the end the innocent citizens are the ones, who suffer the most. However, it has to come down to the decision of the people of the land on whether a Nation should go to war. If the people of a Nation decided to go to war, then the leaders must respect the people’s wishes. At the same time, if the people of a Nation chose not to go to war, then the leaders of this Nation must follow the people’s decision. Remember, “Democracy is for the people, of the people
The errosion of basic human rights has created a vaccum void, where our once Charter of Rights and Freedom existed at. Now, as the days turn to nights these injustices of a select few grow, while they attack through their people in the Province of Albert
