Saturday 25 October : DEMONSTRATION against the occupation of Iraq

Saturday 25 October, in the USA, in Canada, and elsewhere
in the world, demonstrations will take place to demand the
end of the military occupation of Iraq. The Échec à la guerre
Collective calls on everyone to fully participate in this
international day of mobilization !

In Montreal, the demonstration will start at 1:00 pm
from Dominion Square (corner of Peel and Rene-Levesque).

In the USA, the central mobilization will be a march on
Washington organised jointly by the broad coalitions
ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) and
United for Peace and Justice. This mobilization will
coincide with the anniversary of Patriot Act I, this draconian
legislation which severely infringes on civil liberties by
legalising all sorts of situations of exception. The main
demands of this demonstration will be :

=> the end of the occupation of Iraq and the immediate
return of US troops;

=> money for health and education, not for the military;

=> rejection of Patriot Act I.

In Montreal, we will also be demonstration for the end of the
occupation and against any Canadian participation in this
occupation or in the "reconstruction" of Iraq under occupation.

We will also walk for the immediate recall of the Canadian
soldiers which currently make up 40 % of the military
occupation forces in Afghanistan and, more broadly, to
reject the entire rationale of the so-called "war against
terrorism" and the increasing militarization of our economy
which follows.

A leaflet should be available for download within a few hours
at the Collective's website : www.fiiq.qc.ca/echecalaguerre.htm

Let's already begin to mobilize around us !

In solidarity, against the occupation and plundering of Iraq !
