February 16: The Fight Against Condos Continues...

PML, Friday, February 7, 2003 - 14:48

CLAC-logement

In December, Development des Eclusiers filed an
injunction to prevent CLAC from protesting their Quai
des Eclusiers condo project. One of the restrictions
imposed by the injunction would have prohibited the
CLAC from rallying, protesting or picketing within 250
feet of the Quai des Eclusiers sales office situated
at 259 Greene Avenue.

Join us to rally in front of the Quai des Eclusiers
sales offices

CLAC-logement was prepared to contest the injunction
in court on Friday, January 17th. But at the last
minute, the developers called everything off and
dropped the injunction proceedings.

In the middle of Montreals housing crisis, profitting
from the construction of luxury condos is a criminal
and unacceptable act. But profit will not overpower
the right to housing, freedom of expression, freeedom
of association or social justice. We will continue to
rally outside the Quai des Eclusiers sales office to
demand that Developments des Eclusiers drop their
condo project too!

NO MORE CONDOS! NO MORE GENTRIFICATION!
