FINDINGS OF INTERNATIONAL MISSION TO LEBANON

Filipina overseas workers in Lebanon are being treated like “modern-day slaves," this was the main finding of Filipinos who had just arrived from Lebanon as part of an international civil society and parliamentary delegation.

This Petition demands that The United Nations General Assembly immediately establish an International Criminal Tribunal for Israel (ICTI) as a ‘subsidiary organ’ under U.N. Charter Article 22 to prosecute the Israeli Prime Minister Olmert, Defense Minister Peretz, Chief of Staff Halutz and Israel’s other top generals and war criminals for their infliction of international war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide against the Peoples of Lebanon and Palestine.

Ambassadeur d’Israël au Canada

L’attaque calomnieuse de l’Ambassadeur d’Israël au Canada dirigée vers Gilles Duceppe, chef du Bloc québécois, ayant pris part à la manifestation du 6 août dernier à Montréal demandant un cessez-le-feu immédiat au Liban et en Palestine, dépasse l’entendement et est inexcusable. Elle constitue également une attaque sur la société civile québécoise présente en grand nombre à cette manifestation.

Faut-il rappeler que selon les sondages, la vaste majorité des Québécoises et Québécois étaient en faveur d’un cessez-le-feu immédiat comme d’ailleurs ces cinq mille Israéliens qui ont manifesté dans les rues de Tel-Aviv en exigeant la fin immédiate des attaques au Liban. Ces Israéliens exprimaient le même désir pour la paix que ceux et celles présents à la manifestation de Montréal.

BEIRUT, Lebanon - The wounds of war were evident shortly after we crossed the Syria-Lebanon border at 1130 in the morning on August 12. At Haissa, about three kilometers from the Dabboussiyeh border crossing, we come across the ruins of a bridge hit by Israeli war planes just the day before. Villagers tell us 12 people were killed and 10 wounded, all civilians.

Plus de 8 000 personnes sont descendues dans la rue hier à Toronto pour dénoncer l'agression israélienne au Liban, alors que le "cessez-le-feu immédiat" (sic) décrété la veille par le Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies continuait à se faire attendre -- l'armée sioniste ayant décidé de profiter du délai de quelques jours consenti par ses tuteurs états-uniens pour appliquer ce qui ressemble à une sorte de "solution finale" contre les secteurs de la population libanaise qui ont refusé de se soumettre à ses diktats.
