EXPOSURE to TEAR-GAS causes Experimental films! Look for us on the road!

This friday July 6th in NYC....

Elkcreek Cinema is here!

Dedicated to experimental and fringe narrative cinema,
Elkcreek has been shooting, producing, and screening films in the remote hills of rural
upstate New York. Our home is beaver pond. From this swamp of mud and manure we
pull up gleaming ribbons of celluloid and impress their images on the broken shingles of
abandoned barns, along the stoney supports of old bridges, and atop the shiny surface of
neighboring ponds. With the recent completion of two new 16mm films, Elkcreek
takes this grass roots film explosion from its premiere in brooklyn country-wide on tour. The All-Nation
Roadshow and Revue covers nearly all of the country with numerous shows such as the
one in Shreveport LA: screening in an abandoned grocery store in the midst of cotton
fields. Our tour includes Albuquerque NM, Denver CO, San Diego CA, San Francisco
CA, Helena MN, Portland OR, Asheville NC, Detroit MI, Seattle WA, and more.
Live music and performance accompanies each screening and combine to create an event
which has little relation to the typical movie-going experience.

American Primitive
After complete societal destruction three rag-torn characters explore the post apocalyptic
tundra avoiding the poisons of unseen gas and the comforts of easy communication in
search of food. This striking short film uses images of real economic decay (occuring
now in rural upstate NY) as well as the natural frozen landscape to create an all-around
inhospitable and melancholic gloom. Only on occasion do moments of subtle humor
puntuate the film, giving thaw to the bone-chilling freeze.

Flamingo Meringue
A young cook stumbles upon the Beaver Pond Geriatric Correctional facility while in
search of his mother's valued recipes. Ancient mouths weep over lost delights as
harrowed eyes masticate the snowy moor. Jonah engages in a primordial battle with the
paternal panderer 'Bones' by challenging his choking grip on their aged needs. As this
gerontologic escape thriller crescendos mother and son engage in a ritualistic reunion as
terrifying as their doomed diet — A meandering probe into the dark canals of societal
waste.

Friday July 6th 8:00 at DUMBA collective 57 jay st. brooklyn NY, F train to York st. and walk down hill two blocks.
