FPF - Nov. 15th - 2005 - It's a nice article colleague Russ Baker wrote on 'Judas' Miller* but I do not understand his problem. Expressing hope concerning a soon recovery of journalism in the nefarious New York Times, is wasted wishful thinking. The owners of the New York Times have made an overt propaganda sheet out of it, an untrustworthy rag which people better avoid. Because they decide the political/economical lines along which - and what kind of - propaganda c.q. 'information' is published, and use collaborators like Judith Miller from their clan. Liars they own and think they can trust...

To just give an example of what is needed: this is the only front page of the New York Times honest thinking people all over the world - and especially journalists - want to see: http://tinyurl.com/dn42f - It's a disgrace that this gang that for instance also owns the International Herald Tribune - after a fiendly take over - has now turned the IHT into a paper and US medium - which like the NYT - also has become as 'free thinking' and flexible as a frozen fundamentalist readers in Europe think, before dropping 'the Trib'.

As I wrote to Russ Baker: "Your article shows an optimism which probably is based on the fact that you maybe have not gotten a clear picture yet." The global problem is that the owners of the media empires also represent the same multinational group of non-Palestinians which is making the wars, and is further amassing billion $ fortunes. According to Nobel Prize Literature Laureate Alexander Solzjenitsyn, the 'banking establishment' did an enormous job financing the Revolution in Russia too. Turning it into the Soviet Union with it's Gulags, in which Solzjenitsyn also was jailed and maltreated for ten years. He judges people after their deeds, not after their words. "I can understand the wishful thinking", I wrote to my colleague; "but I really wonder what planet you at present live on when you write things like: "Now, with Miller gone, the paper has a chance to show that taking brave risks for the truth, not accommodating power, is the only honorable course for journalists who want to exemplify the best of their profession."

I believe this dream course can be taken the very minute the New York Times journalists become independent of their belligerent owners with their reality manipulators like Karl Rove - the US Joseph Goebbels - who have wrecked what was left of the trust. We all much better should have heeded the warnings in the farewell speech by President Dwight Eisenhower concerning this. AT PRESENT - AND GLOBALLY - MOST 'GOOD' JOURNALISTS HAVE A 'BERUFSVERBOT' AND ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WORK. 'DOING AN HONEST JOB' IS NOT IN VOGUE ANYMORE: THEY ARE NEVER HIRED, ONLY FIRED.

But the others, the propagandists and 'talking heads' disguised as 'journalists' or correspondents, and 'embedded' in the sick system as Quislings, they are all 'guilty by association' concerning the past and ongoing genocides. Without all those brainless prompter propaganda readers, and all 'journalists' turning slavishly into liars and 'fake sellers' like Judith Miller, most - if not all - slaughters would never have been possible.

The New York Times and it's editing ilk still is among the worst liars and warmongers. The #1 in raping the truth and the little trust some people still had - or even still wrongly have - in the NYT, because of some 'alibi'-journalists like Krugman or even Dowd working there. They're planning to use the articles by these as 'alibis' to defend themselves later on - Look how critical we were! - when they all must appear in court for their crimes against humanity.

Take the NYT's Friedman for instance: he - with his abominable behavior - is one of the worst examples of the neocon warmakers and the trust they totally abused. Friedman and his poisonous pen pals in a criminal way let all people down and betrayed them by advocating the neocon's lies, based on their ideology: greed. After more than 40 years abroad, always working as an independent foreign correspondent, I'm sorry to confirm that it is everywhere more or less the same. But I've seen everywhere too, that honest and humane journalists never 'sell out' their great and good profession. They do not work for shareholders, but keep working for the people.
