WASHINGTON (CP) - President George W. Bush will avoid a potentially hostile reception in Parliament and travel to Halifax next week to give a speech after his first official trip to Ottawa, White House sources say.

The side trip would come after a working visit Tuesday with Prime Minister Paul Martin and a dinner that night with hundreds of prominent Canadians at the Museum of Civilization. A White House spokesman said Wednesday the final agenda was still being worked out but confirmed Bush wouldn't address Parliament. Details of the Halifax portion of the trip weren't immediately available.

Right next to Parliament there is a bridge called the Alexandra Bridge that goes directly to the Museum of Civilization. I think that we should be prepared to take that bridge and fight to the museum @5 or so. There will probably be enough of us! There are tonnes of maps of Ottawa on the internet just google and have a look at what I mean.

I beleive the cops are going to try and turn parliament hill into a 'protest zone' and that the Rideau canal will become the dividing line between two spheres of the downtown area. The parliament hill 'sanctioned' areas and the other side of the canal with the US embassy and the Alexandra Birdge leading to the Museum. Then again it may make more sense to get around this by using the Portage Bridge

With this bridge there is the possibility of jumping off onto Victoria Island and fuckin with the cops extensively by crossing to the chaudiere bridge

You can see a 360degree panarama of the island at http://bersoft.org/360movies/# ---under Ottawa -- victoria island

This would allow us more freedom switching bridges and screw the majority of the cops who will be protecting the Alexandra Birdge which they have anounced is closed on the 30th.
This is the Chaudiere Bridge:
