Haitian-Canadian Leader Denounces Prime Minister Paul Martin

"Mr. Prime Minister, I wish to encourage you as you inevitably mingle with the rich and corrupt minority in Haiti which sponsored this second coup against the people’s struggling democracy, to remember that we all understand the racist message of this 2004 Euro-American coup."

Honourable Prime Minister,

As you embark on this trip south, a concerned Canadian and son of Haiti considers it important to remind you of some disturbing facts about the situation
the people of Haiti are currently forced to endure:

1) The illegal authorities you’ve been dealing with in Haiti are currently holding in jail the following constitutional officials turned political prisoners after the February 29th coup: The Constitutional Prime Minister, Mr. Yvon Neptune, the Head of the Haitian Senate, Mr. Yvon Feuillé along with fellow lawmaker Mr. Rudy Hérivaux as well as the Minister of Interior, Mr.
Jocelerme Privert. The Latortue-Alexandre regime have also arrested and jailed under the most violent and illegal conditions several key leaders of Fanmi Lavalas,
the political party the people of Haiti had entrusted its governance to by electoral mandate expiring February 7, 2006. Among these political prisoners, I am sure you know about Rev. Gérard Jean-Juste and folk singer Rosanne Auguste. But, perhaps you are less familiar with the names of the other hundred or so poor Haitians rounded up, thrown and forgotten in jail with the help of the RCMP officers said to be currently “training
