Cretan Initiative against war and social peace (apok...@mail.gr). THE MISFORTUNE TO BE BORN IRAQI For the second time within twelve years, Iraqi people are in the target of planet's most murderous military machine. After the Gulf War 1 and the hundreds of thousands of casualties among the civilians, NATO's murderers in uniform are getting prepared to complete the crime. Under the pretext of , but having as real interest to put a hand on the area's important resources of petrol and find a way out of the economic crisis ( huge flow and consumption of already accumulated capital ), NATO is ready to embark on a new strike against Iraq. Huge USA and British military forces are already deployed in the area, while Greece's contribution to the war consists of two war vessels in the NATO fleet. Australia has already expressed its willingness to participate and everybody awaits the official beginning of the war; official, because the war against Iraqi people has never ceased. The carpet - bombing against military and non military targets carries on, causing collateral damage, and the embargo imposed on Iraq ( following a unanimous agreement on the behalf of the United Nations ) has lead to the death of hundreds of thousands of people - mostly children - due to a lack of basic medical care and food. Many European countries, urged by their economic - basically petrolic - interests in the area, express their discontent to the Anglo-American decision and try to react with all sorts of legalistic tricks such as recourses to the United Nations ( which is nothing more than an instrument of the global leaders that legalizes wars world-wide by its own right ). The Arab countries as well as Turkey - which for the time being keep a stand by position - are negotiating their participation, playing their own geopolitical game, being afraid of the possible rise of a pro- Kurdish regime in the area. The Greek state was involved in these atrocities, exactly in the way it did during the previous wars against Iraq, Yugoslavia and Afghanistan. Notwithstanding the effort of the Greek government to persuade us for the opposite, it greatly contributes to the slaughter of civilians, as it provides NATO with its most important aeronautical base in the Mediterranean, that of Souda. The latter, owing to its geographical position, constitutes the vital station of supply and refueling for NATO forces before they reach the theater of operations. The headquarters of NATO in Souda, is also a source of fatal diseases for the population of that area, where a boom of different types of cancers and leukemia is recorded. While Western countries, under the leadership of the United States, are heading towards the establishment of their globalized domination, they repress their subjects, sometimes by means of force and other times by means of fake expectations about a prosperous future, sometimes by means of war and others by means of social peace, knowing that in that way they will maintain their empire. Those who consume today the , they will experience - if needed in the future - the made by themselves. In a world where profits are considered to be more important than human beings and petrol more valuable than children's lives, it is misfortune to be born Iraqi and not American. NATO army along with the Greek one are getting prepared for the new war, the new massacre, the repetition of history. The Souda Base equips and preserves the crowds of murders, spreads cancer and radioactivity in Western Crete. SAY NO TO THE WAR IN IRAQ Next follows the action call and the poster in jpg format (in Greek)
