Autonomous Defenders of Choice Communique from March 27th Direct Action

Autonomous Defenders of Choice

On March 27th, 2011 some defenders of women's rights confronted the anti-choice Quebec Life Coalitions action 40 Days for Life in Montreal.

Banners were held and music was played in solidarity with the Morgentaler Clinic, its workers, and its patients.

The 40 Days for Life campaign is an international project focused on using prayer and silence to shame women into not exercising their right to choose.

Some autonomous defenders of choice took direct action by defacing the large, religiously oppressive, and hateful banner. They obscured the length of the banner with red paint, representing the blood of the women who have lost their lives from un-safe abortions on Turtle Island and around the world.

ANTI-CHOICE IS ANTI-WOMEN !
WE WON'T BACK DOWN !
