CMAQ will be your window on the World Social Forum

From January 31 to February 5 the town of Porto Alegre, in Brazil, will host the second edition of the World Social Forum.

During the course of this week, more than 60 000 participants, from the world’s civil society, unions, non-governmental associations, environmentalists, women’s defense groups, native people and others will be joining efforts to exchange ideas on the present issues of neoliberal globalisation and to propose together constructive social alternatives.

As a part of the Quebec delegation which will be going to Porto Alegre at the end of the month, the Quebec Centre For Media Alternative is taking to heart to be the main source of information on the activities surrounding the Forum. Updating at least twice daily with a dynamic coverage of the event, CMAQ wishes to give a complete account of the pertinent developments, be it by written, photographic, audio or video documents.

If the issues of globalisation interest you and if, like us, you think that the citizen initiative will be the corner stone of the next century, CMAQ will be your reference during and after this very important benchmark that is the second World Social Forum.

Nous avons néanmoins une Politique éditoriale , qui essentiellement demande que les contributions portent sur une question d'émancipation et ne proviennent pas de médias commerciaux.

This is an alternative media using open publishing. The CMAQ collective, who validates the posts submitted on the Indymedia-Quebec, does not endorse in any way the opinions and statements and does not judge if the information is correct or true. The quality of the information is evaluated by the comments from Internet surfers, like yourself. We nonetheless have an Editorial Policy , which essentially requires that posts be related to questions of emancipation and does not come from a commercial media.
