Thalia Campbell (greenhamsculpture@hotmail.com)

Planning permission decision by Cardiff city councillors and planning dept to be made on Jan 16th 2002.
E-mails and letters of support for this project are urgently needed. we want to site this full size bronze statue in the centre of the pool outside Cardiff City Hall.

The statue is of woman half way through her life carrying a child on her hip, she wears a peace T shirt, suffrage ribbons in her hair to remember her great grandmothers struggle to win the vote, she carries a bunch of wild flowers to show her love for the environment.she wrears chains around her waist .the women chained themselves to the front gates at Greenham Common USA air base where nuclear armed cruise missiles were to be based in the 1980's . Women camped in the open, in all weathers for twenty years of protest against these missiles and the arms race.the sculpture was funded by public subscription internationally, all we now need is planning permission, a low plinth, transport to the site and a party to unveil her.Greenham is still controversial and letters of support are urgently needed. See you at the party.
