The N9 coalition of Montreal has called a public assembly to discuss and organize around the WTO meeting in Qatar on N9 and around a clear opposition to capitalism within the context of Americas New War.

Global Capitalism the WTO and Americas New War
A Public Assembly Thursday September 27th 7pm.
1710 Beaudry (metro beaudry)

To discuss and plan for an action in Montreal for November 9th the international day of protest against the WTO.

An invitation to Montreal area activists and organizers, groups and individuals to discuss, plan and organize Montreal based actions for November 9th. November 9th marks the opening day of the WTO meetings in Qatar a country which clearly represents the WTO policies, where freedom of speech and assembly are almost non-existent. The N9 coalition of Montreal has called this public meeting in response to an interest expressed to act and mobilize locally against both the WTO and capitalism at a public assembly hosted by CLAC on the 16th of August.

The purpose of this Public Assembly is 1) to create a space to share information about the upcoming mobilization against the WTO 2) to discuss the WTO and it’s relationship to global capitalism 3) to discuss and organize for N9 around the context of Americas New War.

We encourage people to bring concrete action proposals for N9 here in Montreal. This assembly will be focused on creating a space to work on and share these ideas and to develop a common strategy for N9 here in Montreal. We encourage discussion about clearly anti-racist, anti-war and anti-imperialist perspectives on the American governments response to the recent events in NYC.

Minimally, the Assembly will provide a space to obtain information and make contacts concerning actions for N9. At best, it might allow us to collectively plan and reinforce our efforts toward N9 here in Montreal.

This assembly is being called for those who share an opposition to capitalism, patriarchy and racism, who wish to organize in an autonomous, non-hierarchical way, who support a confrontational attitude as opposed to reformist alternatives, and who respect a diversity of tactics, ranging from popular education to direct action.

The Assembly will begin at 7pm (sharp) with presentations and information about the upcoming mobilization and different action for N9 here in Montreal. Proceeding with an open discussion on action proposals for N9 with facilitators and translators. Childcare will be available, and the assembly space is wheelchair accessible.
