The upcoming Y2k+1 Anti-Corruption Protest (from Dec. 30, 2000 to Jan. 2, 2001) will be taking place worldwide with people organizing locally and networking internationally. There is still time to get more people involved to make this a succesful event!

This December 30th 2000 to January 2nd 2001, the Y2K+1 Anti-Corruption Protest will be happening. Activists will be protesting, marching and shouting against the corruption by authority and capitalism. It's an international protest defined - 'Organizing Locally, Networking Globally'. A Free Speech Festival will also be held where people will express their views through music, dances, poetry, art, street theatres, giant puppets, etc. On New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, the New Year's Activist Party will take place from morning till afternoon (maybe longer)to spur radical action since the first anniversary of Seattle's protest.

Essentially, this protest is more like a 'carnival' against capitalism where we not only show our ways of protesting but also aim to create awareness for the general public.

So far, we have organizers in Denver-Metro, Colorado; Austin, Texas; Charlotte; Philadelphia; Hartford, Connecticut; Southampton (United Kingdom); Cincinnati; Columbus; Chicago and more. We wish to get more on this list to join our fellow comrades around the world in solidarity and show the rich fascists that we are sick of them.

The 5 W's and H of the protest in summary:

Who - Anarchists/Libertarian Socialists and all those who are against capitalism and the corporations'/governments' evil work will (and are encouraged to) take part.

What - the Y2K+1 Anti-Corruption protest (dedicated to the first anniversary of the Battle of Seattle).

When - protest is being held worldwide from Dec. 30, 2000 - Jan. 2, 2001.

Where - cities where people, affinity groups, etc..are willing to hold this protest.

Why - we are protesting the corruption that capitalism and authority put on the environment, the workers, the peasants, the soldiers, the human spirit, and all people world wide.

How - this will be done by means of organizing locally and networking internationally well enough and in time for the protest.

If you or your collective/affinity groups are interested in holding one in your area or wish to go, please contact us as soon as possible so we can declare which cities will be taking part. Hopefully, if there is a response, it may be possible for more cities to be hosting in their areas and we will invite all groups interested to join our email network list to get in touch with local activists. If any additional information is required, please don't hesitate to contact us. It would be very helpful and much appreciated if you could spread the word to other comrades who may be interested as well.

We will be getting our website up soon which will be published at a later date.

In Solidarity,
Y2K+1 Anti-Corruption organizing group
