Lisa M. Hutchinson

EVERYONE IS FAMILIAR WITH WHAT HAPPENED TO "MAHER ARAR"??????? WELL, THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS, ONLY HE AND MY FIANCE ARE THE ONLY 2 TO COME BACK ALIVE TO TELL THE STORY OF WHAT HAPPENED!!!

Press Release

My name is Fadi (Eddie) Chaiban. Iâ??m currently fighting for my life at the North Las Vegas Detention Center, due to my wrongful accusation and imprisonment by the I.N.S. and the Federal Govt. stemming from my illegal deportation back in 1999 that was brought upon me as a result of a bogus 1992 conviction at the hands of the state of California, whom has just admitted the wrongful doing by re-opening my case and dismissing it in the interest of justice.

Facts

1.) In 1992 I was wrongfully convicted of transporting Marijuana, and was sentenced to 5 years probation.

2.) In 1997, (with 12 days left on me successfully completing my probation) I was revoked and sentenced to 4 years in a California prison for an illegal charge of possessing $20 worth of steroids.

3.) In 1999, and after completing my sentence, I was held over by I.N.S. pending a deportation hearing due to a law signed by President Clinton in 1996 that made any legal permanent resident deportable if convicted of an aggravated felony.

4.) In 2000, I was wrongfully ordered deported by San Diego Immigration Judge Gaylin Boone, to Beirut, Lebanon, a country to which I have never resided in or visited. (I was born in Kuwait, and immigrated to the U.S.A. at the tender age of 3). Even after repeatedly expressing my fear of being deported to Lebanon and my plan for political asylum or other remedies available to me at the time, Judge Boone still ordered me deported.

5.) After being deported to Beirut, I was jailed, interrogated and tortured on the hands of the Lebanese Govt. officials for 6 days, due to my cooperation with the U.S. authorities from 1992-1995 and my open political views of my hatred to the middle eastern countries and their policies.

6.) After being hospitalized upon my escape from Lebanon authorities, I managed, miraculously to make it back to my homeland the U.S., where my entire family, daughter and friends live and where I have lived for the last 37 years of my 40 yrs. Alive.

7.) On August 11th 2003, acting on a tip by a jealous ex-girlfriend, I was arrested and detained pending an illegal reentry charge and deportation back to Beirut, Lebanon, where I was tortured at 3 years prior.

8.) On November 19th 2003, the state of California, in the interest of justice, sighting irregularities and illegalities, re-opened my 1992 case, set aside my prior conviction and dismissed the charges.

9.) So for both the I.N.S. Court and the Federal Court, Judge Boone in particular, refused to re-open my 1999 deportation hearing, due to the new overwhelming evidence brought forth by the state of California and my torture (which is internationally recognized by 1951 Geneva Convention, also signed by the U.S. as a participating member of the Convention Against Torture Act)

I urge you today to help me save my life, not only for my sake, but also for my family and loved ones sake.
