PHILIPPINES: High price of electricity is anti-women, anti-poor

Freedom from Debt Coalition (FDC)

MANILA, Philippines – In a society where women are mostly in-charge of managing the household budget, higher electricity rates mean additional burdens and deeper indebtedness for Filipino women, especially those who already find it hard to make ends meet.

Freedom from Debt Coalition (FDC)

MANILA, Philippines – On the last few days of the budget committee hearings, a debt watchdog has asked the House Committee on Appropriations to follow President Benigno S. Now, I know The Comedy Central is a commercial TV network, so this isn't exactly indy-news :P but it is quite informative and serves the common good.  A mindboggling and humorous look at how US TV pundits want the "poor" to pay more...  Hope this goes viral !

Youth Riots - Ravenous Hunger for Freedom -- Mohawk Nation News

Mohawk Nation News, August 9, 2011:

People and animals don’t live or breed well in captivity,
unless they think they are free. Indigenous had mental, physical and spiritual
freedoms. Europeans were born into cages, conditioned to be obedient to their
masters. They can’t see the horror of their slavery because it is too painful to
look at directly. Europeans have tried to bring everybody else into the cage with
them. We can only be kept in cages we refuse to see. To see the cage is to leave

Te lo dice Maria - Los corridos mexicanos

Anonyme, Viernes, Julio 15, 2011 - 19:12
